The letter outlines intelligence that the Resident has received from Abdellah Aga, which indicates that the Turks have taken Aboukier and il Rashied and put to death all English persons they found there. It also states that Muscat has received a deputation claiming allegiance to the Wahabee [Wahabi], which the Resident believes to be in possession of nearly all Arabia; it provides all the information that the Resident has managed to gather on their chieftain and their religion.
Also included is an extract from a letter the Resident has received from a native of Bussora [Basra]. This extract provides intelligence on recent victories the Russians have achieved against the Turks and the French. It also provides some information regarding the accession of Mustafa IV as Sultan of the Ottoman Empire.
