Letter regarding Captain Felix Jones who has returned to Bombay with the expectation of resuming his telegraph position in the Gulf, but that the Bombay Government has received no instructions in relation to an appointment for him.
The letter goes on to give news of Captain Robert Lambert Playfair's journey to Zanzibar and the likelihood that twenty dhows at Shargah [Sharjah] will form part of a 'piratical fleet' which will also be visiting there.
The letter concludes with the news of Sir James Outram's death and the expectation that Major William Lockyer Merewether will be appointed to Aden.
