This letter discusses a letter from the Prince of Shiraz delivered by hand by Hussein Khan warning against the building of forts on the islands of Kish [Quishm] and Angar. Durham informed the messenger that a decision could not be made without reference to the Government in Bombay and that only the cruiser Mercury and the surveying ship Discovery are available. The letter also discussed that the agent of the Imam at Bunda Abbas [Bandar Abbas] informs that 12,000 men were raised by Bushir Khan of Zab.
Included (on folio 3) is the translation of a letter from Hussein Khan warning about the building of huts for sepoys Term used in English to refer to an Indian infantryman. Carries some derogatory connotations as sometimes used as a means of othering and emphasising race, colour, origins, or rank. on the islands of Kish and Angar.
