The letter is informing the Bussora Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. that the Pattamai Barbara [ Barabara Paramai ] has brought word to Bushire of a fleet of fifteen boats anchored off the Island of Carrack [Khārk, Jazīreh-ye], however it is believed that these were likely to have been merchant vessels rather than pirates. It further notes that the vessel has been permitted to take on extra sepoys Term used in English to refer to an Indian infantryman. Carries some derogatory connotations as sometimes used as a means of othering and emphasising race, colour, origins, or rank. has a precaution. Also reported in the letter is a failed pirate attack on the HCC Psyche .
