The letter is informing the Supreme Government that the Acting Resident has been moved into temporary accommodation, while repairs are made to the factory An East India Company trading post. at Bushire by Mahomed Jaffer Khan [Muḥammad Ja‘afar Khān], Governor of Bushire. The repairs are expected the take between twenty days and one month; they have been prompted by a firmaun [ Firman A Persian word meaning a royal order or decree issued by a sovereign, used notably in the Ottoman Empire (sometimes written ‘phirmaund’). ] from Ḥusayn ‘Alī Mirzā, the Prince at Shiraz, who ordered that it should be either repaired or torn down.
