The letter is acknowledging the receipt of the commands of the Bombay Government dated 4 March 1811, which conveyed a message from Brigadier-General Malcolm that asked if a piece of cloth had been returned to the Bushire Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. ; the letter notes that no cloth advanced to Captain Charles Paseley has been returned.
