The enclosure (f 4) is an extract from a Despatch from the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. (dated 11 September 1850), reminding that 'small coins, copper plate inscriptions, ancient manuscripts and small portable vestiges of antiquity' be purchased at small expense for 'our museum' whenever possible.
