Official Notification.
for {J'lv'ral hiformat^o* Ve ^ ^ rom ^ 1C ® overnor district the following Notification in respect of the present War is hereby issued
News have been brought by a dhow recently arrived from Towal that Husain
Faisal ibn Awn was beaten off near Bir Ibn Abbas and escaped towards the coast,
whereas the tribes Awn-al-Ahamada and Jehina and several others surrendered
and joined the Turks. The forces on Tarik Sultani lead’ng to Rabegh marched
from Ghabir and now arrived at Bir Ibn Hassani. They proceeded from Bir Ibn
Hassani to Bir-e-Shaikh and then to Rabegh. On their arrival at Bir Hassani and
after entering the boundaries of Bir-e-Shaikh all difficulties were surmounted and
roads to Mekka and Jeddah are now opened. Now in spite of strenuous efforts of
our enemies the Railway line is working.

iJ3o A H., the Turks in alliance with the tribesmen of Halli and Abha of Assir
attacked Coonfoodah and killed many of the followers of Ibn Awn, whereas the
remainder fled m dhows to Jeddah. Three guns and 2 maxims and large quantities
or arms and ammunition were captured.
, ^ kave been brought by a dhow arrived on Wednesday, the 24th Safar
from Jeddah that the Turks are advancing and that many of the Shaikhs and Arabs
in i edma, Rabegh and \ embo who were formerly with Ibn Awn have now joined
the Turks and accompanied by the Shaikh of Rabegh have arrived at Medina and
