With reference to your letter No.C/PA-240 dated
the 24th March, 1946, I am to inform you that His Majesty 1 s
Government have agreed to your holding the appointment of
Chief Local Representative.
2. While making this communication I am to add that
His Majesty^ Government may wish to ask, at a not too
distant date, for the appointment of a British subject in
accordance with paragraph 4 of the Political Agreement,
which stipulation was waived for the duration of the war
