ollicer (the person, unit or institute concerned must be in each case the person, unit
or institute to whom the parcel or goods were addressed).
As regards tobacco, so long as the British Government makes a free issue (which
will enter free under (a) as a military store) no refund on individual imports will be
made. . ,
Should the free issue cease, a refund will be paid monthly on the basis of the tree
issue, that is to say, at the rate of 2 oz. per head per week, and certificate (C) will not
be required for tobacco. , ,
Motor cars or guns imported by individuals shall be the subject of a refund if
re-exported within a period of two years on condition that
(i.) The re-exporter should be the individual who originally paid the duty; and
(ii.) The gun or motor-car should be properly identified at the port of import.
IT. —Exports.
All goods imported by the British military authorities may be exported free of
duty, but all products of Egyptian industry or produce of Egyptian soil shall be liable
to export duty. The nature and quantities, and, in the case of foodstuffs, a,lso the
values, of all goods exported will be declared by the military authorities to the Customs
before loading.
III.
The Egyptian Government reserves to itself the right, after the proposed agreement
has been in force for one year, to give six months’ notice of termination, when
negotiations will be undertaken for the revision of the above arrangements.

(a.) Certificates (A), (B) and (C) are attached.
(b.) The Director-General of Customs may require to revise the detail of the
machinery for refunds to General Officer Commanding and the forms of
certificate.
