Letter regarding news from the papers of an outbreak of plague in Zanzibar and that at Dr. Hojel's recommendation Edwards had written to the Foreign Agent about the need to take precautions with regards to boats arriving from there.

The letter also discusses furniture, books and records which have been sent to Bassidore and requesting they be returned if they are not required there.
