Translation of a letter fromNaUoda Ali Saleh Tigran

After Compliments.
lour letter has been received and I have understood its contents.
As regards Mr, Zeytoon, you have written that he will be coming to Lingah
by the mail steamer but he did not come. I have heard that the Agent of
Khadhem s toteamers is Agha Ah Haji Muhammad Amin. but so far he has not
spoken to anyone regarding freight. I am making enquiries.
wiki regard .o the 2,000 Gindis oxide which the Hindu wanted to take at
0 2 ru P^5 s P er Agha Abdullah has written to Haji Hi.san that he should not
g:ve (this quantity); as, if he gave, the Calcutta market will be injured. And so
tar, he (Abdullah) has also sold nothing. Six months have now passed and he has
done nothing. I toul Haji tiasan that we should sell 2,000 Gindis and pay the
value thereof to Abdullah, so that we may redeem the oxide pawned with the
(other) Hindu ; but he did not agree. Another Hindu wants 1,000 Gindis at the
&c»me prioe. Haji Hasan has not agreed (to supply him), and they are now in nego
tiations to buy from Hormuz and they will do so." They will, in the end, ship from
Hormuz and take the stuff where they like, and this chance will be lost ^by us.
(As regards' Hotz's Ag nt, we left together for the Island of Bin Musa.
¥ hen we took our departure we had no men to work on the boat and there were
not sufficient men. We were on the sea for four days and four nights and did not
even then reach the island. We returned to Lingah. If he had supplied efficient
men, or if I myself had engaged efficient men, we should have reached the Island.
This is the way Haji Hasan goes on. I do not know whether he wishes that I
should get tired and that the Island should be for himself. Other facts will turn
